Enrolment & Open Days

Maple Bear Prague is a Czech-Canadian elementary school offering nine years of primary education in the environment of a small, family-oriented school. We grow gradually, with a maximum of two classes per grade, so that everyone knows each other by name and children feel safe and naturally part of the school community.

From September 2026, we will open a preparatory class, Grade 1, and Grade 2. We combine the Czech curriculum with Canadian educational standards and draw on long-term experience from both Czech public and private schools, complemented by an international team of educators and education specialists.

Children learn in both Czech and English naturally, through experience, exploration, and meaningful activities. A high level of bilingual education goes hand in hand with ensuring that children feel happy, learn through play, enjoy learning, and can develop at their own pace.

How enrolment for 1st and 2nd grade works at Maple Bear Prague

Enrolment at our school is open to all parents of children aged 5–7. In the 2026/2027 school year, we are opening a preparatory class, Grade 1, and Grade 2.

Do you want the best bilingual education for your child? We believe the right decision begins with a personal experience—therefore, we warmly invite you and your children to visit us, see the school, meet the teachers, and experience the teaching atmosphere in practice.

Book visit

Bring your children to our Open House Days, where they can experience a sample lesson in our learning centers and then enjoy the school library or free play in the after-school program. Meanwhile, we will prepare a good coffee for parents and present the school philosophy and practical information tailored to your questions.

Submit the application

Register your child by sending the application form to secure a place in the admissions process.

Enrolment

Official enrolment will take place on January 16–17 and January 23–24, 2026, through individual meetings between the teacher and the child, including an assessment of the child’s school readiness. The child’s interview is conducted in a playful manner and in the language of the child’s choice (CZ/ENG).

Results and next steps

Results will be announced within 3 days after enrollment, and parents will receive information about acceptance. After acceptance, the contract signing follows.

This process is designed to be friendly, transparent, and supportive for both you and your child.

OPEN DAYS

Eliška Petáková

Teacher Grade 0

My name is Eliška and I am a Czech language teacher at Maple Bear School. I studied education and mathematics at the Faculty of Education. My journey in education began in the Scouts, where I led a children’s group and worked as a trainer in leadership courses. Later, I spent five years teaching in a kindergarten and also gained a lot of experience caring for children. I believe in building warm and positive relationships with children and in nurturing their natural curiosity.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, spending time with my daughter, and being with my family. I’m very happy to be part of the Maple Bear team and to accompany your children on their educational journey.
