Maple Bear Elementary School in Prague was founded in 2025. The school is located in the beautiful area of Kavčí Hory in Prague, with a view of Prague Castle. We are a new school with big ambitions – our goal is to bring the quality of Canadian education into the Czech system while maintaining a friendly, community-focused atmosphere where everyone feels welcome.
We believe that a school should be a place where children not only learn but also grow as individuals. That’s why we are building our school gradually, together with our students and their families. We care about knowing each other by name, listening to one another, and creating a safe environment where everyone feels like part of something bigger.
Our journey is just beginning, but we are building on a strong foundation – we are part of the global Maple Bear network, which operates over 400 schools worldwide.
In January 2025, Maple Bear Elementary School Prague chose its future home – a modern building in the Office Park at Kavčí Hory in Prague 4. In this inspiring location with a view of Prague Castle, the story of a school full of joy, learning, and discovery began.
In March, we were delighted to welcome the first visitors to Maple Bear Elementary School right in our school building. In the model classroom, we enjoyed lots of games and activities together – both in English and Czech – a first step toward bilingual education.
In September, we celebrated the Grand Opening of our school with special guests from Maple Bear Global and representatives of the city. We officially welcomed our first Grade 0 and Grade 1 classes, joyfully marking the beginning of our new school life.
In February 2025, Principal Kristýna Sovinská personally met with the first parents and children who visited the Maple Bear school presentation in a café. Together, we enjoyed our first warm moments full of excitement and anticipation.
In August, the full Maple Bear team came together, enthusiastically preparing everything for our little bears. Classrooms are filling with color, supplies are ready, and we can’t wait to share the excitement of the very first school day together!

My name is Eliška and I am a Czech language teacher at Maple Bear School. I studied education and mathematics at the Faculty of Education. My journey in education began in the Scouts, where I led a children’s group and worked as a trainer in leadership courses. Later, I spent five years teaching in a kindergarten and also gained a lot of experience caring for children. I believe in building warm and positive relationships with children and in nurturing their natural curiosity.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, spending time with my daughter, and being with my family. I’m very happy to be part of the Maple Bear team and to accompany your children on their educational journey.
